20 short-listed for CVC; appointment not soon


As many as 20 officers have been short-listed for the post of Central Vigilance Commissioner which has been lying vacant since August 30; the day when Pradeep Kumar completed his term. Out of the 20 names a panel of five candidates would be formed for final consideration of the collegium comprising Prime Minister, Home Minister and Leader of the single largest opposition party in Lok Sabha.

It is learnt that the selection of CVC is not going to take soon because the selection crieteria adopted for CVC appointment has been challenged in the Supreme Court which would take some time.

Previously, Devendra Kumar Sikri’s (Rtd IAS:1975:GJ) name had cropped up as the foremost choice of the new regime.
