June 13 is going to mark a big transition in Indian Bureaucracy. If the latest buzz is any guide the initial proposal to appoint Ajit Seth (IAS:1974:UP) as new Vice Chairman, NDMA may be affected shortly.
The outgoing Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth (IAS:1974:UP) will complete his extended tenure on June 13 and will hand over the flag to P K Sinha (IAS:1977:UP); the newly appointed Cabinet Secretary and OSD in Cabinet Sectariat.
Narendra Modi Government had reduced the post of VC from the rank of Cabinet Minister to Minister of State. In case the buzz proves to be true Ajit Seth would be new Vice Chairman of NDMA.
The revamped NDMA has already got three members (in the rank of Secretary) in the last week of December last year. Previously the NDMA was a 10-member body; Vice-Chairman (in the rank of Cabinet Minister) and nine members.
