Modi Government has, reportedly, finalised the names for the coveted post of Central Vigilance Commissioner and Member CVC. The posts are expected to be filled up by the second week of February.
In compliance to the Supreme Court’s directions given on December 17 the centre has requested to the Supreme Court to allow it to move with its final call on the appointments; a case which is scheduled to be heard on February 06. It is learnt that once it gets the nod from SC the government would move the file of selected names to the President for appointment.
Previously, Devendra Kumar Sikri’s (Rtd IAS:1975:GJ) name had cropped up as the foremost choice of the new regime for Chief Vigilance Commissioner. The top position is vacant since September 2014 after the retirement of Pradeep Kumar (IAS:HY).
