Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the Public Enterprises Selection Board has recently approached the ACC seeking approval for the revised quota for shortlisting of candidates for selection to the board level positions in Central PSUs.
As per the revised scheme, there will be only 07 ‘Internal’ candidates (in place of 08) on the panel of total 15 candidates who are shortlisted for a Board Level post.
Similarly, there will be 03 candidates under ‘sectoral’ category, 02 under ‘External’ category, 01 under Govt (GoI officers on deputation basis), and 01 each under State PSE and Private sector category.
At the same, time there are many stake-holders who believe that for PSUs candidates there should be only two categories INTERNAL & OTHERS. The basis concept of ‘Sectoral’ is flawed; it does not match the real intent. Also, executives holding Lien is treated at par with Lien being held on deputation which is not the case at Board level. This is simply the protection of service without giving any continuity of service benefits.
