Chhattisgarh wins award for digitization

Chhattisgarh has bagged the Centre’s best performing state award for digitalising services at Lok Seva Kendras and Common Service Centres during the Digital India Week 2015, organised from July 1 to July 7, 2015. In the district category, three districts of Chhattisgarh – Kondagaon, Korea and Gariaband occupied the first, second and third position. The chief minister had launched 16 major digital services during the Digital India Week such as Mobile app, e-district services, Chhattisgarh campus connect portal etc.
IT, Deputy Secretary Surabh Kumar and SIO, NIC M K Mishra received the award from Union Minister for Communication and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad at a function held in New Delhi to celebrate Good Governance Day. Collector Kondagaon Shikha Rajput Tiwari, Collector Gariaband Niranjan Das and Korea DIO Ziya Ur Rehman received the awards for their districts.
The state was selected for providing free of cost high speed internet facility to citizens and students under wifi hotspot expansion programme, digitalizing six pension services of revenue department and five pension services of public welfare department and for digitalised services provide at Lok Seva Kendra and Common Service Centres in villages.
