CPSEs asked to lay down clear vigilance guidelines



Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) K V Chowdary has asked chief executives of CPSEs to lay down clear processes and guidelines in manuals to promote transparency and remove un-ambiguity. He said that perception about CVC needs to be changed as the institution has enhanced the brand image of PSUs in global market.
Speaking at an interactive meeting organized here by SOPE, he pointed out that the Central Vigilance Commission has been taking several innovative steps to improve the vigilance management without compromising on the working of the enterprises. He took note of all the concerns expressed by CPSEs for looking into them. He complimented SCOPE for proactive role to bring excellence in CPSEs.
He also released SCOPE Compendium on Contribution of CPSEs towards Make in India, Digital India, Skill India and Swachh Bharat.
SCOPE Chairman R G Rajan said vigilance is an integral part of management function and its role should be preventive to bring awareness and promote adherence to ethics.
In his welcome address, Dr U D Choubey, Director General, SCOPE, said that CPSEs have been following high standards of accountability and transparency. He mentioned CPSEs are subjected to a multiple, heterogeneous and complex regulatory mechanism to check the accountability which needs to be converged. Nirmal Sinha, Vice Chairman, SCOPE proposed a vote of thanks.
P C Vaish, CMD, NTC made a presentation on the common concerns related to Vigilance in CPSEs.
