CVC advisory to CPSE for handing over cheating cases to CBI

CVCCentral Vigilance Commission (CVC) has issued an advisory to over 200 CPSE that cases of fraud over Rs 25 lakh reported in any CPSE, wherein official of any CPSE is found prima facie involved in it, must be handed over to the CBI instead of handing them over to the local police. Only those matters would be referred to the local police/state police which CBI has refused to take up for investigations or the transaction involve less than Rs. 25 lacs.

CVC’s advisory has come in the wake of its observation that many CPSE have been referring cases to the local police which otherwise should have been referred to the CBI to take a call on them.
