Fin. Min. and new EMC; three names in chase

Shankar AcharyaSources underlined the Finance Minister’s pressing concern over setting up of new Expenditure Management Commission which is mandated to draw roadmap for expenditure reforms like new urea policy, drawing the contours of subsidy reform etc.

Reportedly, the FM has identified as many as three competent names; Shankar Acharya (former CEA), Vijay Kelkar (former finance secretary) and Bimal Jalan (former RBI governor) for the task. Shankar Acharya is said to have fair chances for the position.
