New Delhi (02.03.2021): Rupesh Kumar Thakur (IAS:2006:UT) was on Tuesday appointed as Director in the Ministry of Labour & Employment on, for a period of five years.
New Delhi (01.03.21): The Delhi Government on Monday appointed Sanjay Goel (IAS:2004:UT) as Commissioner, North Delhi Municipal Corporation. Further, Vikas Anand (IAS:2002:UT), was appointed as Commissioner, East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
New Delhi (01.03.2021): Justice A.P. Sahi was on Monday appointed as Director, National Judicial Academy (NJA), Bhopal. Previously he was working as Chief Justice of Madras High Court.
New Delhi (01.03.2021): Hemant Kumar Meena (IFS:2011:MH) was on Monday appointed as Deputy Secretary, NITI Aayog for a period ending 04.08.2024 i.e. for a combined tenure of six years. Previously he was working as Assistant Inspector General in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
New Delhi (01.03.2021): Manpreet Vohra (IFS:1988) was on Monday appointed as High Commissioner of India to Australia. Previously he was working as Ambassador of India to Mexico.
New Delhi (01.03.2021): Ms Arti Sharma (IAS:2010:UT) was on Monday appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, for a period of four years.
New Delhi (28.02.2021): As Indianmandarins had reported on 11.02.2021 (WEBLINK) the NaMo administration on Sunday extended the tenure (on a re-employment basis) of Pramod Chandra Modi (Retd IRS IT:1982) as Chairman of CBDT for a period of three months ending 31.05.2021 w.e.f. 01.03.2021. He has been holding the additional charge of Member (Investigation) ever since his term started as Chairman, CBDT.
It may be underlined that the extension coincides with Assembly elections in five states; Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry, and Kerala. Modi's tenure was extended (on-contract) first on 29.08.2019 - two days ahead of his retirement i.e. 31.08.2019.
When Sushil Chandra’s term as CBDT Chairman was extended in May 2017 on a re-employment basis, it was considered a rare exception. But after PC Mody’s and later S K Gupta’s case, exceptions are seen to have become a new normal.
New Delhi (27.12.2021): The NaMo administration on Saturday assigned the additional charge of the post of Revenue Secretary to Tarun Bajaj (IAS:1988:HY) on superannuation of ABP Pandey (IAS:1985:MH) on 28.02.2021. Presently, Bajaj is working as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs.
