IOCL suspends Debangshu Ray days before appointment as Dir (R&D)

IOCLStanding beside Modi’s pledge of ‘zero tolerance’ against corruption Indian Oil Corporation, under Petroleum Ministry, suspended Debangshu Ray (GM, International Trade) days before he was expected to receive an appointment letter as Director (Research and Development), OICL. As per IOC Director (Human Resources) Verghese Cherian the OICL suspended Ray on proven irregularities and instances of leaking of sensitive information to a private company.

Ironically, the Oil Ministry itself had sent the name of Debangshu Ray (GM, International Trade) for the post of Director (R&D) after the candidature of B P Das (recommended by PESB for selection as its first choice on the basis of selection procedures) was rejected. Ray’s name had reportedly, been cleared by the PMO and DoPT was set to issue an appointment letter as Director (R&D).
