N R Wasan tipped for DG, National Crime Records Bureau

MHA is learnt to have considered Navneet R Wasan (IPS:1980:AP) for the post of Director General, National Crime Record Bureau. Appointment Committee of Cabinet is expected to appoint Wasan to the post in a week or so. Once appointed Wasan will succeed R R Verma (IPS:1978:BH) as DG, NCRB.

In the month of October 2014 Wasan was elevated as Special DG, National Investigative Agency. In his previous stints Wasan had wide experience with Central Bureau of Investigation in various capacities and currently he is probing sensitive cases pertaining to national security with NIA.

After the retirement of S C Sinha last year Wasan had the opportunity to hold the additional charge of DG, NIA for a while.
