New Delhi (07.04.2021): Officials, including those at the lower level, in vigilance units of the central government and the CPSUs, will have to be necessarily rotated to prevent them from developing vested interests. Communicating this decision on April 6, 2021, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has advised GoI departments and public sector units to transfer all the staff who have completed five years or more in the same place of posting Marked to all secretaries and CEOs of CPSUs, the Commission ruled in a comprehensive and detailed order that "such personnel who have completed three years in vigilance units can be given another tenure of three years in a vigilance unit, in continuation of earlier tenure, but at a different place of posting." Rotations of this kind, it noted, will help avoid "unnecessary complaints/ allegations, etc." The deadline for implementing the order is June 30, 2021.
