Chaturvedi takes 360 appraisal, JS empanelment, lateral entry to CAT

2195Indian Forest Service (IFS:2002:UD) officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi, who has been relentlessly fighting for rule of law in the administration of service matters, has sought to know the legality of the government's procedures on empanelment of JS level officers, lateral entry (private-sector experts) on contract at JS levels, and 360-degree appraisal system for empanelment of officers at Joint Secretary and superior levels of additional secretary and secretary. For this purpose, he has filed an application in the Central Administrative Tribunal, Circuit Bench, Nainital, under Section 19 of the CAT Act 1985. His application, backed by 19 Annexures dealing with extant rules and regulations governing service matters of senior government officers. These annexures also deal with a few cases of alleged deviations from established rules in promoting certain officials as well as the culture of supposedly inappropriate political influence.
