DA Case: C&CE Commissioner sentenced 05 Yrs imprisonment, fine of Rs 20 Lakh

2150A special judge in a Delhi court has sentenced V K
Puri, the then Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise, Lucknow and his wife
Amita Puri, five-year simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20 lakh each in disproportionate assets
case. CBI had registered case in the year 2002 u/s 13(2)
r/w Section 13 (1) (e) of PC Act, 1988 against Puri for disproportionate assets
case. The trial court found the said accused persons guilty and convicted them.
In the case of another accomplish in their crime Vinesh Vyas, the trial court
passed an order and filed a complaint u/s 195 of IPC against him and sent the
file to the CMM/ACMM for further action.
