Prime Minister Narendra Modi and MoS for PMO and Personnel Dr Jitendra Singh offered the Diwali gift to Millions of Central Government pensioners. To make life easier for central government pensioners, the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) launched on November 12, 2020, a scheme called “Doorstep Service for submission of Digital Life Certificate (DLC) through Postman”.

The scheme is the product of a collaboration between India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

Pensioners can get detailed information on the IPPB website to benefit from the scheme.

Though the scheme is a paid one meaning one has to pay a service charge, it will obviate the need for pensioners to visit their bank branches and suffer the pain of standing in long queues on pension days.

IPPB has a national network of 1,36,000+ access points in Post Offices and more than 1,89,000 Postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks with smartphones and biometric devices to provide Doorstep Banking Services.
