Ahmedabad (19.06.2021): The Gujarat Government has enacted the transfer of as many as 77 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers including a principal secretary, municipal commissioners, and several district collectors in a major bureaucratic reshuffle. The General Administration Department notified that the principal secretary of the Education Department (Higher and Technical Education), Anju Sharma (IAS:1991) has been appointed as principal secretary, Labour and Employment.

Vice-chairman and MD of the Gujarat State Road Transportation Corporation (GSRTC) SJ Haider (IAS:1991) replaced Sharma. Secretary of Labour and Employment Department Harshad Patel (IAS:2005) replaced Haider as the new managing director of the GSRTC. Jamnagar Collector Ravi Shankar was transferred and appointed as chief administrator of the Statue of Unity, relieving D A Shah (IAS: 2010) who had an additional charge of the post. Shankar will also hold an additional charge as joint MD, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd (SSNNL). Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara were among the districts which got new Collectors, while new municipal commissioners were appointed for Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar and Junagadh.

Ahmedabad District Development Officer (DDO) Arun Mahesh Babu (IAS:2013) was appointed as Rajkot Collector, relieving Remya Mohan (IAS:2007) who was posted as mission director, National Health Mission. Mahisagar Collector R B Barad (IAS:2006) was appointed as Vadodara Collector in place of Kiran Jhaveri (IAS:2012) who had an additional charge of the post.

Amreli Collector Aayush Sanjeev Oak (IAS:2011) was appointed as Surat Collector. Panchmahal Collector Amit Arora (IAS:2012) was appointed as Rajkot municipal commissioner, while Dahod Collector Vijaykumar Kharadi (IAS:2009) will be the new civic chief of Jamnagar.

Rajkot municipal commissioner Udit Agrawal (IAS:2008) was transferred as Mehsana district Collector. Navsari Collector Ardra Agrawal (IAS:2007) was appointed as Commissioner of Relief with additional charge as CEO of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority.

Resident Additional Collector R M Tanna was appointed as Junagadh municipal commissioner and Surendranagar Collector Kankipati Rajesh (IAS:2011) was appointed as joint secretary, Home Department. New collectors have been appointed in districts like Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Mehsana, Anand, Panchmahal, Aravalli, Jamnagar, Valsad, Kutch, Tapi, Surendranagar, Amreli and Chhota Udepur. V L Kharadi (IAS:2009) has been appointed as Jamnagar Municipal Commissioner while D K Patel (IAS:2008) new Municipal Commissioner of Gandhinagar. Patel is now the new municipal commissioner in Gandhinagar; he will also hold an additional charge as CEO of the Gandhinagar Urban Development  Authority (GUDA).

New DDOs were appointed in the districts of Anand, Kheda, Aravalli, Patal, Vadodara, Jamnagar and Navsari, while Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar got new regional commissioners of municipalities in the reshuffle.
