5003If some well-placed sources are to be believed the Government of Tripura has appointed Jitendra Kumar Sinha (IAS:1996:TR) as Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. In addition, Sinha will also hold the additional charge of the post of Finance and Health and Family Welfare. Prior to this, the charge of Finance was with Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar (IAS:1990:TR) whereas Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar Rakesh (IAS:1990:TR) held the additional charge of Health & Family Welfare. It may be underlined that Sinha recently repatriated from Central Deputation where he worked as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North East Region (DONER). Sources at Ministry of DONER say that Sinha’s stint with DONER would have given him an edge where he worked vastly towards transparency and systemic reforms and had a wider perspective of Center-state relations pertaining to North-Eastern states.
