New Delhi (09.02.2021): Power corridors are seen humming with preparations to go along with a further three months of extended tenure (on re-employment basis) of Pramod Chandra Modi (Retd IRS IT:1982). His previous extended term, beginning 1 Sept 2020, is scheduled to end on 28 February 2021. It may be underlined that his tenure was extended (on-contract) first on 29.08.2019 - two days ahead of his retirement i.e. 31.08.2019. When Sushil Chandra’s term as CBDT Chairman was extended in May 2017 on a re-employment basis, it was considered a rare exception. But after PC Mody’s and later S K Gupta’s case, exceptions are seen to have become a new normal.
