Dr. Arvind Panagariya, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, launched the beta version NITI Aayog website today. The website can be accessed on the following url:

The website provides details of the constitution, functions and current activities of the NITI Aayog. The reports prepared by the institution in its initial stages have also been shared on the website. The website has a unique feature of NITI Blogs, which will incorporate articles, field reports, work in progress, and opinions by NITI officials. The final website is under construction and will be updated soon.

The launch of the website was also attended by Ms. Sindhushree Khullar, CEO, NITI Aayog, and Dr. Bibek Debroy and Dr. V. K. Saraswat, Members, NITI Aayog.

Though NITI Aayog had replaced the Planning Commission on January 1 this year but it took longer time than usual to develop its own website. It took almost four and a half months for the Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) to develop the website as a solution giving platform. The content & format of the website needed to address a wider range of audience (states, experts, common citizens and other segments across stake holders). The portal would provide interactive window to its audience. Audience would be able to share their views on different issues and see others’ perspectives.”

The government had archived the website of the erstwhile Planning Commission in the first week of January after replacing it with NITI Aayog mandated to serve as a policy think-tank for the central as well as state governments under Prime Minister as its Chairperson.
