Finally all the splinter groups of Janata Pariwar have decided to merge into one entity under the leadership of the senior-most leader of Janata Pariwar Mulayam Singh Yadav. In view of the Assembly elections in Bihar and then in Uttar Pradesh, merger is being looked upon as an important development to stop Modi chariot.
But on Nitish joining hands with Lalu Prasad, upper caste votes would be driven away and what difference it would be able to make in Uttar Pradesh is yet to be analyzed. Moreover Janata Dal (S) does not have any influence in north India so is the case with rest of the parties not having their impact in south India. In a nutshell, there is a big question mark over this alliance making any impact on the ground as they don’t have votes outside their respective territories. Moreover in Bihar ati-Dalit and ati-pichda might go away from this new Janata Pariwar which is fated to unite to break away.
