Post of Commissioner, BCAS downgraded to Additional Secy rank



In sync with the buzz which has been doing rounds since January 2015 the ACC is reported to have approved the proposal of Civil Aviation Ministry downgrading the post of Commissioner, BCAS to the rank of Additional Secretary. In addition, the chief of BCAS will now require only three years of experience in security-related assignment to fulfil the crieteria whereas the second-in-command of BCAS would require ten years of experience in security-related assignments.

The latest development seems to have paved the way for appointment of new chief of BCAS; a post which has been lying since October 31, 2013 after the the retirement of Gurjot Singh Malhi (IPS:1974:HY). Presently, Bibhuti Bhushan Dash (IPS:1987:WB) Additional Commissioner, is heading BCAS as additional charge.
