Sanjiv braves it out as CAT puts the onus on ACC

Indian Forest Service officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi, who was awarded this year’s Ramon Magsaysay Award for promoting integrity in public life, continues to brave administrative vengeance bordering on criminality.
Although as many as 20 letters have been exchanged between Health Ministry, MoEFCC, Director AIIMS and Department of Perosnnel and Training (DoPT) as well as passing of severe strictures by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), the anti-corruption warrior remains ‘gainfully employed’ without work.
Chaturvedi is keeping his fingers crossed: the appointments committee of cabinet, headed by PM Narendra Modi, will have to take a call on the officer’s appointment before the time line of January 5, 2016 set by CAT in its order dated November 5, 2015.
The officer was driven to take his case to CAT in simple frustration as Health Minister J P Nadda and MOEFCC Minister Prakash Javadekar tried to take shelter behind each other to deflect and delay CAT’s directive in respect of Chaturvedi’s plea for cadre change.
