Director General of the standing conference of public enterprises (Scope), Dr. U.D. Choubey, has highlighted the importance of media relations and said that reputation and brand promotion by public sector enterprises could be the most important ingredient for securing competitive advantage over others.
Speaking at a Scope-organized one-day conference on “media relations” here which was attended by CEOs, directors and top management of public sector enterprises, he said CEOs should make a dedicated group of persons under him to bring about corporate visibility at national and international level and also thwart negative publicity. It would be better if CEO directly contribute to social media to share the achievements by the company so that the same could reach the people at large. This in turn will project a better brand image at national/global level, he added.
