Srinagar (07.10.2021): The Jammu and Kashmir Government relieved Baseer Ahmad Khan of the charge of advisor to the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor with immediate effect. Khan, a retired IAS officer of the 2000 batch, was relieved of charge following a communication from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The reasons for his abrupt removal are not clear as yet. He was made advisor to the then Lt Governor in March 2020 and later continued under the next Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Prior to this assignment, Khan was the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir.
