New Delhi (02.12.2021): The Maharashtra government on Thursday suspended former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh (IPS:1988:MH). CM Uddhav Thackeray cleared the file for suspension after Singh returned from a three-week hospitalization. Orders were sent to the state DGP Sanjay Pandey to serve the suspension on Parambir and another DCP rank officer. Singh has been facing a slew of FIRs in Mumbai and the satellite towns after the seizure of explosives outside Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia and the murder of Thane businessman Mansukh Hiren. It may be underlined that assistant police inspector Sachin Waze and senior inspector Pradeep Sharma were arrested in the case and thereafter, Param Bir Singh alleged that the government and Home minister Anil Deshmukh had asked to make a collection of Rs 100 crore. State police chief Pandey had proposed the suspension of all those named in the FIRs filed in the case but ACS (Home) wanted specific roles to be defined. Thereafter, a proposal to suspend Singh and a DCP was moved which was cleared by Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil many days back but was waiting for a final nod from the CM.
