1269New Delhi (15.11.2021): The Centre on Monday issued the gazette notified that the tenure of Defence Secretary, Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Secretary of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) may be extended for a period not exceeding two years on a case - to - case basis. It may be underlined that in 2005, the Union Cabinet had cleared a fixed tenure of two years for Defence Secretary, Home Secretary and Chiefs of Intelligence Bureau and RAW. President Ram Nath Kovind had, on Sunday, promulgated two ordinances allowing the Centre to extend the tenures of CBI and ED chiefs from two years to up to five years.

New Delhi (15.11.2021): The Centre on Monday issued the gazette notified that the tenure of Defence Secretary, Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Secretary of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) may be extended for a period not exceeding two years on a case - to - case basis.
It may be underlined that in 2005, the Union Cabinet had cleared a fixed tenure of two years for Defence Secretary, Home Secretary and Chiefs of Intelligence Bureau and RAW.
