Honcho from a private co may too become NSIL CMD!

New Delhi (07.01.2022): Space PSU of India -- New Space India Ltd (NSIL) -- may soon get its chief from the private sector if the Department of Space (DoS) and the Government find a suitable candidate. DoS has opened up the post of CMD to candidates from the private sector. Candidates from central public sector enterprise; central government, including the armed forces and all India services; State Public Sector Enterprises (SPSE) or a private company have been made eligible for it.

Search-cum-Selection Committee will start shortlisting candidates from January 24, 2022. This panel has been empowered to include names of people who don’t apply and also relax eligibility criteria to accommodate candidates it feels stand out for the position. NSIL’s present CMD Radhakrishnan D, who was deputed from Isro, can also apply for the position. Under the administrative control of the DoS, the authorized and paid-up capital of NSIL is Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 710 crore, respectively.
