After advertising for the post of dog handler/s, IIT Delhi director Ramgopal Rao canceled on September 6, 2020, the recruitment process amid SM uproar on the qualification required for the job. The advertisement, published on August 26, 2020, mentioned the minimum qualification of BA, BSc, B Tech, or equivalent for applying for the contract job which would be initially valid for three months. Rao's explanation for the cancelation of the ad and recruitment process is that the job requirement mentioned in the ad was inadvertently copied from another job advertisement. The actual qualification required was of ‘Bachelor of Veterinary Science’.
