New Delhi (21.05.2021): Indianmandarins has learned that as many as 26 officers (JAG) belonging to Indian Broadcasting Engineers Service (Organized group 'A' Service) of various batches (including retired officers) have been granted ‘Non-Functional Upgradation' (NFU) in pay scale comparable to the IAS officers posted as Joint Secretary under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Officers who appear on the list of beneficiaries include;                        

Smt. Suman (Rani) Yadav (1989), Ms. Navneet Kaur (1991), V Srinivasa Vardhan (1991), Jintender Pruthi (1991), Kamlesh Kr. Maurya (1991), Mayank Kumar (1991), Sanjai Kr. Srivastava (1991),  Vijay Kumar  (Baleja) (1991), Sumeet Goyal (1991), Ram Bhog Singh (1991), Hanumat Addigonde (1991), Sujit Kumar Biswas (1991), Ramesh Ch. Ahirwar (1991), Rajesh Kumar (1991), Nand Lal (1991), K.K. Baburajan (1991), S. Ajitha (1991), S. Nellai Nayagam (1991), K. ArunPrabhakar (1991), Shesha Devilajan (1991),  Bijan Kumar Das (1991),      S Natarajan (1991), Basant Kumar Behera (1991), Rajendra Kumar Jarangal (1991), Sanjay Prasad (1991), K Murugan (1991).

As per the notification the Union Government has categorically mentioned that it would not bestow any right to the officers to claim promotion or deputation benefits based on non-functional up-gradation.

Further, it clarifies that in case of regular vacancies in the grade the officers will be considered for regular promotion as per the normal DPC guidelines, based on the provisions of the Recruitment Rules (RR), and at the time of promotion, the pay will not be fixed again for those granted up-gradation under NFU provisions.
