New Delhi (11.01.2022): The Supreme Court on Wednesday appointed a five-member committee headed by former apex court judge Indu Malhotra to probe the security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Punjab. Other panel members include ADGP (security) Punjab, DGP Chandigarh, DG NIA and Registrar General of Punjab and Haryana high court. “A judicially trained mind should probe the matter and submit a report at the earliest,” the SC bench of Chief Justice N V Ramana, Justice Surya Kant Kaul, and Hima Kohli said. The Supreme Court directed the Registrar General of the Punjab and Haryana high court to provide all the seized documents pertaining to the security arrangement to the panel head.
