New Delhi (13.10.2021): After spending 18 years with PTC India Ltd its Chairman & Managing Director Deepak Amitabh has resigned w.e.f. November 05, 2021. The Board of the country’s largest electricity trader accepted his resignation in the meeting held on October 13.

Amitabh, a former IRS (Income Tax) officer belonging to the 1984 batch joined PTC on deputation in September 2003 and later became its chief financial officer (CFO) before taking over as CMD position in October 2012.

PTC plays a key role in creating a new energy security architecture for neighboring countries namely; Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh.  

Partly owned by the Indian government, PTC India was set up in 1999 as a government-initiated public-private partnership. Its promoters include state-run Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, NHPC Limited, NTPC Ltd, and Power Finance Corporation.
