New Delhi (07.01.2022): The three-member committee constituted by the union home ministry to probe the security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Punjab visit on January 5 has summoned Punjab DGP S Chattopadhyaya and thirteen other officers in Ferozepur on Friday.
The Communique sent by Punjab chief secretary Anirudh Tiwari said: “You are requested to meet the committee on January 7 at 10am onwards at BSF campus, Ferozepur, along with the relevant orders/ documents with reference to the above subject.” Besides the DGP, ADGP G Nageshwar Rao, ADGP Nagendra Jain, IG Patiala Mukhwinder Singh Chinna, and Ferozepur DIG Inderbir Singh have also been directed to appear before the committee.
The central committee is led by the secretary (security) in the cabinet secretariat Sudhir Kumar Saxena. Two members of this committee include intelligence bureau joint director Balbir Singh and Special Protection Group IG S Suresh.
