New Delhi (30.06.2021): Senior advocate KK Venugopal has been reappointed as the Attorney General of India for one year on June 30. The tenure of attorney general is usually three years. He had requested the government to give him a one-year tenure keeping in mind his advanced age when his first term as AG was to end last year.
The law ministry notification says, "The President is pleased to reappoint KK Venugopal, Senior Advocate as Attorney General for India for a period of one year with effect from July 1, 2021."
