Wooing brahmin voters: Shahjahanpur to be named Parshurampur

847Lucknow (28.12.2021): After changing Faizabad district as Ayodhya which is the birthplace of Lord Ram, now the BJP wants to change the name of Shahjahanpur district to Parshurampur to name it after Lord Parasuram. One of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Lord Parasuram was a Brahmin, was born in Jalalabad in the Shahjahanpur district. The Yogi Adityanath government will be prodded into doing so soon. The BJP is also planning a campaign to beautify all places associated with Lord Parashuram and his legacy — the BJP Brahmin leaders had presented a picture of Lord Parshuram to BJP chief JP Nadda in a meeting to woo Brahmin voters.
