  • New Delhi (26.12.2024): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Thursday are as follows:
    • Additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Food Corporation of India (FCI) to Vanita Rattan Sharma (IRS IT: 1994), Executive Director (Finance), Food Corporation of India (FCI), has been extended for a period of three months w.e.f. 28.11.2024.
    • Post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Space held by Vijayakumar J Jayaraman (lAS: 2011: MP) has been re-designated as Director in the same department in Bengaluru for a period up to 07.04.2027 i.e total tenure of five years. He counts his central deputation tenure w.e.f. 08.04.2022.
    • Post of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence held by Moinak Mukherjee (ISS: 2011) has been re-designated as Director in the same ministry for a period up to 26.04.2026 i.e a total tenure of five years. He counts his central deputation tenure w.e.f. 27.04.2021.

    • Post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Rural Development held by Reena Nagar (ISS: 2011) has been re-designated as Director in the same department with effect from 01.01.2025 for a period up to 06.12.2027 i.e total tenure of five years. She counts her central deputation tenure w.e.f. 07.12.2022.
    • Post of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence held by Subhash Kumar (IDAS: 2011) has been re-designated as Director in the same ministry with effect from 01 .01 .2025 for a period up to 27.04.2028 i.e total tenure of five years. His central deputation tenure is w.e.f. 28. 04. 2023.
    • Manika Jain (IFS: 1993), presently Ambassador of India to Romania, has been concurrently accredited as the Ambassador of India to Republic of Moldova, with residence in Bucharest.


  • New Delhi (25.12.2024): The New Delhi establishment on Wednesday effected a major reshuffle of Union Secretaries. The list of newly appointed secretaries goes as follows:
    1. Rachna Shah (IAS: 1991: KL) was appointed as Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Currently, she is Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles.  
    2. Arunish Chawla (IAS: 1992: BH) was appointed as Secretary Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. He replaces Sanjay Malhotra (IAS: 1990: RJ) who recently became RBI Governor. Currently, Chawla is serving as Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals. He will continue to hold the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Culture.
    3. Vineet Joshi (IAS: 1992: MN), presently Chief Secretary in Manipur, was appointed as Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. He replaces K Sanjay Murthy (IAS: 1989: HP) on his appointment as CAG.
    4. Neelam Shammi Rao (IAS: 1992: MP) was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles vice Rachna Shah.  Currently, Rao is serving as  Secretary, National Commission for Minorities. 
    5. Sanjay Sethi (IAS: 1992: MH), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Minorities in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. Sethi replaces Neelam Shammi Rao upon her appointment as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles.
    6. Amit Agrawal (IAS: 1993: CG) replaces Arunish Chawla as Secretary Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Currently he is DG, UIDAI.
    7. Neerja Sekhar (IAS: 1993: HY) was appointed as DG, National Productivity Council (under DPIIT) in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post. She replaces S Gopalakrishnan (IAS: 1991: TN) who is now Chairman, Staff Selection Commission (SSC). 

  • New Delhi (24.12.2024): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Tuesday are as follows:
    • The additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs has been assigned to Sanjeev Chopra (IAS: 1990: OR) during the absence on leave of Nidhi Khare (IAS: 1992: JH) from 26.12.2024 to 04.01.2025. Currently, Sanjeev Chopra is Secretary, Department of Food Public Distribution.  
    • P Renukadevi (IPS: 2008: UK) has been inducted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in the CBI for a period of five years.

    • Raman Kumar Meena (IPS: 2011: HP) has been inducted as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the CBI for a period of five years.

    • Additional charge of the post of CVO, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL), Delhi/NCR, has been entrusted with Simmi R. Nakra (IP&T AFS: 1994), CVO, Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Delhi, for a period of six months.

    • The Deputy Secretary level post in the Department of Water Resources River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation held by Dheeraj Joshi (IRSE : 2011) was re-designated as Director.

    • Archana Shukla (ISS: 2013) has been appointed as Joint Director (Deputy Secretary Level) in the National Testing Agency under Department of Higher Education a period of four years.
    • Amit Kumar (Indian Supply Service: 2014) has been appointed as Joint Director (DS Level) in NTA for a period of four years.
    • Sandip Kumar Mishra (IRS IT 2007) has been appointed as Director in NTA for a period of five years.
    • Shivani (IRPS: 2013) has been appointed as Joint Director in NTA for a period of four years.
    • Nitin Jain (IRS C&IT: 2011), Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, has been re-designated as Director in the same ministry from 01.01 .2025 for a period up to 15.03.2026 i.e. combined tenure of five years of Central deputation. He counts his deputation tenure w.e.f. 16.03.2021.
    • Ashish Kumar Saxena (IRSSE: 2011), Deputy Secretary in the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) in the Department of Commerce, has been re-designated as Director in the same department from 01.01.2025 for a period up to 03.01 .2027 i.e. total admissible tenure of five years Central deputation. He counts his deputation tenure w.e.f. 04.01.2022.

    • Swapnil S Patil (IRS lT:2011), Private Secretary (at Deputy Secretary level) to Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan, has been re-designated as Private Secretary (at Director level) to the same Minister from 01.01.2025 for a period up to 09.08.2027. He counts his Central Deputation tenure w.e.f. 10.08.2022.

    • Sonia Singh (IPS: 20023: NL) has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for a tenure of five years. 


  • New Delhi (19.12.2024): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Thursday are as follows:
    • Alok Ranjan Jha (IFS: 2002), presently Ambassador of India to Belarus, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Zambia.
    • Dr N Nandakumar (IFS: 2007), presently Consul General, Consulate General of India, Shanghai, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Mali.

    • Additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) was assigned to V Srinivas (lAS: 1989: RJ) during the period of absence on leave of Tuhin Kanta Pandey (lAS: 1987: OR) from 20.12 2024 to 25.12.2024. Currently, Srinivas is Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and Department of Pensions & Pensioners Welfare.


  • New Delhi (18.12.2024): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Wednesday are as follows:
    • Tenure of Vinay Kumar Prajapati (IRSSE: 2006), Director, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has been curtailed.
    • The tenure of additional charge of the post of CEO, Polavaram Project Authority (Hyderabad)  to Atul Jain was extended for a period of six months w.e.f. 28.11.2024. Currently, Atul Jain is  Chairman, Krishna River Management Board. 
    • Birender Singh Yadav (IFS: 1997) has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Kyrgyz Republic. 

    • Arun Kumar Sahu (IFS: 1996), presently Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Bulgaria.

    • Pankaj Kumar (IRTS: 2007), CVO, Central Coalfields Ltd. (CCL), Ranchi, has been entrusted with the additional charge of the post of CVO, Northern Coalfields Ltd. (NCL), Singrauli for a period of six months w.e.f. 19.11.2024.

    • PESB selected Sanjiv Kumar Singh for the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Hindustan Copper Limited. Currently he is working as Director (Mining) in Hindustan Copper Ltd.
