Attend Arvind Panagriya’s Address ‘Without Fail’: Centre To IAS freshers

Days after 37 of the 172 newly-recruited IAS officers missed an interactive training session with NITI Aayog’s member Bibek Debroy and slapped show-cause notices, the DoPT has asked all freshers to attend “without fail” an address by NITI Aayog’s Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya scheduled for Thursday. The theme of Panagariya’s addressing would be “Indian economy — where from and where to.” Bibek Debroy had earlier spoken on DBT, which some of the officers bunked.
The freshers of 2014 batch are posted as Assistant Secretaries and are working in various ministries in Delhi as part of a new initiative by the central government where they start their career at the centre first before going to their respective cadre states. They are on a three-month tenure with the central government beginning August 1.
