On January 15, top officials will brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the agrarian crisis and its solution, innovative budgeting and effective implementation of central schemes as well as the progress of Swachch Bharat Mission and Ganga rejuvenation.
The briefing will be done by different G-8 groups -nickname for eight groups of secretaries that were set up following a brainstorming session between the Prime Minister and departmental secretaries on the New Year eve.
Earlier, on January 12, Union Shipping Secretary Rajive Kumar (IAS:1981:UP) acted as the rapporteur for the group of secretaries who detailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the energy sector, its problems and prospects, and the policy measures required to accelerate the pace of clean solar and wind energy generation. Another group that was also scheduled to present its report the same day couldn’t do so on account of shortage of time. Its timing could be scheduled with the PM’s convenience.
