Justice Indira to join Delhi HC at no 02 seniority after Ms G Rohini (CJ)



The Supreme Court collegium, led by Chief Justice of India T S Thakur, has decided to bring in Justice Indira Banerjee from the Calcutta high court to Delhi. Justice Banerjee, fourth in the hierarchy in Calcutta HC, will preside as second-in-command in Delhi High Court by virtue of her seniority.

Born in 1957, Justice Banerjee did her graduation from Presidency College, Calcutta. Later she studied law at the University College of Law and enrolled as an advocate in 1985. In 2001 she was elevated from the bar to the bench and made it as a permanent judge (Calcutta HC) in Feb 2002.
