With the fast approaching date (May 31) of retirement of K S Balasubramanian (IPS:KL:1978), the incumbent DGP of Kerala, the search goes on for a most suited aspirant for the top cop job in Kerala. It is learnt that Mahesh Kumar Singla (IPS:KL:1982) has emerged as the first choice of the top decision makers in Kerala. Presently he is on central deputation with BSF in the rank of ADG, Chandigarh.

In fact the decks are clear for him as he is the only senior claimant officer in Kerala as his batch mate Jacob Alexander (IPS:KL:1982) is retiring on May 31 whereas his senior Dineshwar Sharma has already made his fortune as Director, IB.
