The numbers of villages that have become 100% digitally literate under NDLM have now risen to six, with Mallelamadugu and Gopalpuram villages in Khammam district being added to the list.
With hard work and perseverance, VLE Konda Srinivas of Ashwapuram Mandal has completed digital literacy training for one individual from each household in the two villages. Moreover, 98 percent of those empowered through digital literacy skills are women aged between 25-45 years, especially from tribal agency villages.
In Mallellamadugu village, VLE Srinivas and his associates conducted awareness camps in the initial phase and identified potential beneficiaries through a basic household survey. There are 508 households in the village and 301 beneficiaries were registered under NDLM and provided Appreciation of Digital Literacy training. The candidates then appeared for online assessment and got certified. Out of 301 candidates empowered, 207 are illiterate.
In Gopalapuram, too, the same exercise was carried out, where VLE Srinivas identified 98 potential candidates from 125 households for training.
