Bihar: 8 IPS officers considered for promotion as ADG, Ahotkar as DG

291329 December 2020: Over 18 senior IPS officers of Bihar cadre are all set to be promoted from ADG to DG, IG to ADG, and SP to DIG respectively. The decision may be notified in the new year. On Monday, a departmental promotion committee (DPC), chaired by Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar (IAS:1984:BH), met for the promotion from ADG to DG and IG to ADG rank. The DPC included Aamir Subhani (IAS:1987:BH), Additional Chief Secretary of Home and State DGP S K Singhal (IPS:1988:BH). Reportedly, Shobha Ahotkar (IPS:1990:BH) was also considered for promotion from ADG to DG while 1992 batch IPS officers; Amit Kumar Jain, Nayyar Hasnain Khan, Sunil Kumar, Dr Kamal Kishore, Paras Nath, Anil Kishore Yadav, and Bachchan Singh Meena were considered for promotion from IG to ADG rank.
