Former
Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Prakash Mishra (Retd IPS:1977:OR) on
Sunday joined the BJP. Prakash Mishra, who served as the DG of NDRF and CRPF, is
considered close to PM’s right hand Dr P K Mishra. Reportedly, he is expected to contest Lok Sabha Elections (2019). Mishra
along with ex-Congress MLA Debi Prasanna Chand and former BJD legislator
Brundaban Majhi also joined the saffron party in presence of Union Minister
Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior leaders of the party.These inductions into
Odisha BJP fold after Aparajita Sarangi (Ex IAS:1994:OR) may strengthen the
party's poll prospects and 'Mission East' goal.
