Ahead of the retirement of D K Pandey (IPS:1984:JH) the
Centre has reportedly given its consent on Jharkhand Govt Government’s proposal/panel
for the post of State DGP. Reportedly, the panel comprised three IPS officers namely;
V H Rao Deshmukh (IPS:1986:JH), Kamal Nayan Choubey (IPS:1986:JH) and Neeraj Sinha
(IPS:1987:JH) of which Choubey’s name emerged as a final choice for the cop job. It may be underlined that, on merit list, he is junior to Deshmukh. The outgoing State DGP D K Pandey will be retiring on 31 May
2019 following which Choubey may take over the charge as new State DGP. Presently
Choubey is serving at Centre as Additional DG, BSF.
