NBCC to construct Squash court at Major Dhyanchand Stadium: S Jaishankar laid the foundation stone

New Delhi (18.12.2020): Union Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, an enthusiastic squash player, laid the foundation stone of six squash courts at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, on 16 December 2020, in the presence of Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju.

The project will be constructed by NBCC Delhi, across an area of 750 square meters. The estimated sanctioned cost of the project is worth Rs 5.52 cr to provide a world-class facility to the players.

Sandip Pradhan, Director General of Sports Authority of India, Cyrus Poncha, Secretary-General of Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) and Neelesh Shah, Director (Projects), NBCC, along with other Government officials of the Ministry of sports have attended the event. And appreciated NBCC for its commitment to the pre-construction activity of the project and to start the work in a record time of three months after work.
