New Delhi (11.04.2024):Three IRS (IT) officers of the same batch have found themselves in a very tricky situation which has become the most talked about matter in the bureaucracy across all services these days. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal and Rahul Navin, the incumbent interim chief of ED, are from the same batch and are part of a close peer group. Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Navin have different obligations with the different governments while Sunita Kejriwal took VRS after Arvind Kejriwal became Delhi CM. So, one is under his master’s command while the other is his own master as Delhi CM. All the three officers started their training on September 05, 1993 at LBSNAA in Mussoorie and this togetherness as batchmates continued for next 20 months which concluded in April 1995 at Nagpur Academy.
It may be underlined that there are confusions as several media outlets reported that they belonged to different batch but the reality is that they are from the same batch.
It is his destiny that alleged corruption in Liquor scam brought Arvind Kejriwal to ED custody which is led by his batchmate Rahul Navin. Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Navin are now at mutually conflicting zones who are said to be good friends too. People in power corridors say that last year Kejriwal family attended marriage of latter's daughter. Professional and personal commitments are two different things and there have been cases where professional commitments took precedence over personal relations. No one knew that the destiny would put the three batchmates in such an awkward situation professionally.
