Dehradun (06.10.2021): A 33/11kV GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) Sub Station, and RT- DAS (Real-Time Data Acquisition system) Control System under the Central IPDS scheme was inaugurated at Dehradun in Uttrakhand.
The inauguration ceremony is part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations marking 75 years of India’s independence.
Power Finance Corporation (PFC) is the Nodal Agency for the IPDS scheme.
Uttarkhand Minister of Energy and Alternative Energy Dr. Harak Singh Rawat inaugurated the project in the presence of Ms. Sowjanya, Secretary (Energy and Alternative Energy); Deepak Rawat, MD, UPCL; and Saurabh Kumar Shah, ED (IPDS), PFC.
The GIS substation was sanctioned Rs 85.99 crore and will benefit more than 5000 households in areas of Dehradun and the surrounding areas.
The RT-DAS involved Rs 4.28 crores.
The substation is expected to reduce the curtailment of power supply, reduce the land requirement, lower the operational and maintenance cost and also provide a safe working environment for workers.
