New Delhi (05.01.2022): Friends turn foe in politics. Three cabinet ministers in Punjab government – Pargat Singh, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Amrinder Singh Raja Wading – are close friends of state PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, have started opposing him. These ministers reached Delhi to lodge complaints against Sidhu. Now they are Sidhu’s challengers. These ministers told party general secretary K C Venugopal that Sidhu is not following the party line during poll campaign. Sidhu is declaring party candidates on his own during political rallies when the screening process is still going on. Sidhu declared that school girls will get an amount ranging between Rs 500 to 10,000 and college girls will get scooters. Congress party has not yet prepared its poll manifesto, but Sidhu has made all these declarations beyond the party line. So the group of Ministers have landed in Delhi to request Venugopal to keep Sidhu in check or he may create a political chaos during the crucial elections. The Congress leadership seems to be in a fix how to checkmate PCC chief. Now the high command has to take a call on this issue.
