• New Delhi (27.05.2024): Fuelling the speculations over the continuity and stability of the incumbent New Delhi establishment a top bureaucratic overhaul was effected abruptly on Monday which included fresh appointments, lateral-shifts of five senior-most IAS officers. 
    In the midst of Lok Sabha Polls 2024, with the seventh and last phase of elections underway, the top bureaucratic rejig, including the Additional Secretary empanelment of 1999 batch of IAS officers, looks quite unusual. The decisions also signify that the New Delhi establishment may shortly come up with another list of appointment to the post of Additional Secretary before the formation of the Govt at Centre.
    The list of newly reshuffled union secretaries goes as follows:
    • Amit Yadav (IAS: 1991: AGMUT: 1991) was appointed as Officer on Special Duty, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. He will take over as Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment vice Saurabh Garg (IAS: 1991: OR) upon his superannuation on 31.07.2024. Presently Amit Yadav is working in the cadre as Chairman, NDMC.
    • Raj Kumar Goyal (lAS: 1990: AGMUT) was laterally shifted from Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and appointed to a critically important post of Secretary, Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law & Justice. It may be underlined that he was recently appointed as Secretary, Department of Border Management under MHA.
    • Rajendra Kumar (IAS: 1992: TN) was appointed as Secretary, Department of Border Management under MHA vice Raj Kumar Goyal upon his appointment as Secretary, Department of Justice. Currently, he is DG, Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) under the Ministry of Labour & Employment.
    • Rakesh Ranjan (lAS: 1992: MN) was appointed as Chairman, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post and keeping the Recruitment Rules (RR) of the post in abeyance. Currently, he is working as Special Secretary. Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
    • Pradip Kumar Tripathi (IAS: 1987:  AGMUT) was appointed as Secretary to the Lokpal of India till the date of his superannuation (i.e. 30.06.2024) and thereafter on contract basis for a period of two years beyond the date of his superannuation on usual terms and conditions applicable to re-employed Central Government officers. Currently, Tripathi is Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat

  • New Delhi (27.05.2024): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Monday cleared the empanelment of 26 IAS officers for holding Additional Secretary / Additional Secretary Equivalent level posts at the Centre. These officers are from 1995 to 1999 batches.

    • Tenure of Meenaxi Rawat (IES: 1993), CVO, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), Mumbai, was extended for a further period of 2 years upto 14.09.2026.

  • New Delhi (18.05.2024): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Saturday are as follows:
    • T Roumuan Paite (IRS IT: 1996), CMD, National Scheduled Tribes Finance & Development Corporation, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, was entrusted with additional charge of the post of Managing Director, Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India w.e.f. 13.11.2023 till 12.11.2024.
    • Tenure of Kamlesh Chaturvedi (IFoS: 1988: MP), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways was extended for a period of three months beyond 21.05.2024.

  • New Delhi (17.05.2024): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Friday are as follows:
    • Dr Vikas Pathak (IPS:2008: RJ) was appointed as Deputy Inspector General in Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) for a period of five years.
    • A Y V Krishna (IPS: 1995: AM) IG, CRPF, was appointed as Additional Director for a tenure of five years up to 06.08.2028.

  • New Delhi (16.05.2024): Tenure of two IPS officers of SP + DIG ranks have been extended, another IRS officer serving on deputation too have been given extension while two other IPS officers have been inducted in the CBI to the rank of SP+DIG for a tenure of five years. Name and other details of these officers are as follows.

    • Tenure of Dr Sonal Chandra (IPS: 2008: TN), DIG, CBI, has been extended for one-year from 01.07.2024 to 30.06.2025 which is a total central deputation of six years.
    • Tenure of Murali Rambha (IPS: 2011: TN), SP, CBI, has been extended for two years from 08.07.2024 to 07.07.2026 which is total central deputation of seven years.
    • Vijayendra Kumar (IRS: 2007), presently working as SP in CBI, has been appointed as DIG in CBI for an overall combined tenure of (SP+DIG) upto 19.07.2024 which is a total central deputation of seven years.
    • Jashandeep Randhawa (IPS: 2012: HY) has been inducted as SP in CBI for a combined tenure (SP+DIG) of five years.
    • Subhash Chandra Jat (IPS: 2015: JH) has been inducted as SP in CBI for a combined tenure (SP+DIG) of five years.

  • New Delhi (16.05.2024): Two senior IPS officers have been appointed as Additional Director in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The names of these officers are as follows.
    • N Venu Gopal (IPS: 1995: HP), presently working as Joint Director, CBI, was appointed as Additional Director, CBI, for an overall tenure of five years up to 24.05.2027. 
    • A Y V Krishna (IPS: 1995: AM), presently working as IG, CRPF, was appointed as Additional Director, CBI, for an overall tenure of 05 years up to 06.08.2028.
