New Delhi (12.01.2024): Sanjay Kundu (IPS: 1989: HP) has again approached the Supreme Court after the Himachal Pradesh High Court rejected his application seeking recall of its order directing the state government to move him out of the post of the state director-general of police (DGP).
Himachal Pradesh High Court on December 26, 2023, asked the government to shift Kundu and Kangra superintendent of police Shalini Agnihotri (IPS: 2012: HP) from their posts to ensure a fair probe into Palampur-based businessman Nishant Sharma’s complaint about a threat to his life.
This was stayed by the SC on January 3. The top court noted that the HC was set to hear the matter again on January 4, and said Kundu could approach the high court with an application seeking recall of the December 26 order. Kundu petitioned but the HC rejected it on January 9.
