This necessitated the Delhi Police headquarters for an ad hoc arrangement. The additional charge of the crucially important post was assigned to his batchmate Nupur Prasad who by chance happens to be his wife currently serving as Joint CP (Licencing). Nupur Prasad has the experience of handling high-profile cases like film actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide when she was in the CBI. In fact, the couple IPS officers are considered powerful among peers, and their long stay in Delhi would have invited Jealousy of a section of insiders.

Contrary to this, a section of insiders says that the move was just a part of a regular administrative decision by the higher authorities.

In a current context Sarada Muraleedharan (IAS: 1990: KL) took over as Chief Secretary of Kerala from her batchmate and husband Dr V Venu (Retd IAS: 1990: KL). In the case of Karnataka, Shalini Rajneesh (IAS: 1989: KN) is the incumbent Chief Secretary who replaced her husband Dr Rajneesh Goel (Retd IAS: 1986: KN) in July 2024.
